Sadeq Quraishi, an anesthesiologist at Tufts Medical Center, is being held without bail after he was charged with attempted sex trafficking of a child on Thursday, Nov. 3, NBC10 Boston reports.
Quraishi allegedly responded to an online advertisement showing two teenage girls who were "Travelin' thru town on a lil roadtrip," the outlet said citing court documents. The ad also said the girls were "2 beautiful flowers that are ready to bloom," WCVB reports citing the documents.
The doctor then started texting an undercover agent posing as the girls, ages 12 and 14, NBC10 Boston continues. Some of Quraishi's messages read "man you're making things difficult," and, "seems like a fun experience … just not in the mood to get arrested today," the outlet reports.
Quraishi eventually agreed to pay $250 to have sex with one of the girls after both parties stated that neither were cops, the outlet reports. Quraishi was arrested after meeting up with the agent at a hotel and was subsequently suspended from his position at Tufts.
"When we learned today of the disturbing allegations made against Dr. Quraishi, we immediately suspended his medical staff privileges," a hospital spokesperson told WCVB. "He has been placed on leave while we await further information from law enforcement."
Quraishi is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday, NBC10 Boston reports.
